Influence of Temperature , GA , BA , and Uniconazole on Flower Bud Formation of Cymbidium goeringii

Abstract
This experiment was performed to clarify the influence of temperature, GA, BA, and uniconazole treatment on flower bud formation of Cymbidium goeringii. When plants were exposed to day/night temperature of 30/20¡É, 20/10¡É and 15/5¡É, it was found that the higher the day/night temperature, the quicker the bud differentiation and development. In GA treatment, the number of leaf buds and flower buds was similar to that of control regardless of GA concentration (250, 500, 1000 §·¡¤L^(-1)). However, the flower bud formation was delayed with increase of GA concentration. In BA treatment, the number of leaf buds was increased with higher BA concentration (25, 50, 100 §·¡¤L^(-1)), while the number of flower bud was decreased and formation of flower bud was delayed. Moreover, GA had a synergistic effect on BA. In uniconazole (0.04% a.i.) treatment, with increase of concentration (0.5, 1.0, 2.0 g), leaf length was decreased but its width was increased. Flower bud formation was accelerated by 12 days with 1.0 g uniconazole treatment, and the flower bud formation was increased by 15% as compared with control. Flower size was not affected by uniconazole treatments. However, flower stalk length was decreased.
